Vor ein paar Monaten bin ich zum ersten Mal über Rainald Grebe gestolpert. Und zwar da, wo man als Jugendlicher heute über sowas stolpert: Youtube.

Es war dieser Nightwash- Auftritt:

Wow, musikalische Comedy mit bitter wahren, sozialkritischen Einschlägen. Nun, ob Rainald Grebe Comedy ist, ist sone Frage. Klar, zuerst stoplert man bei youtube über Auftritte bei Comedy-Formaten wie dem Quatsch Comedy Club oder TV Total (letzterer ging übrig ziemlich schief, weil das typische TV Total Publikum - klingt das jetzt elität, wenn man sowas sagt? - wohl einfach zu dumm für sowas ist. Oder…sagen wir…der Humor passte da nicht so gut) …äh….wo war ich stehen geblieben? Ach ja: Also neben Auftritten bei dem QCC, TV Total etc findet man bei youtube vor allem erstmal weitere NIghtwash-Auftritte. Wohl fast legendär zum Beispiel dieser hier, in dem er dem Moderator schon ziemlich reizt:

Aber Rainld Grebe ist mit seinen Lautstärke-Schwankungen und gut getimeten Pausen nicht nur ein super Comedian; Wenn man weiterstöbert findet man auch andere Gesichter von Rainald Grebe, der sich selber auch als Liedermacher bezeichnet und wohl eher in die Comedy-Ecke gestolpert ist: Lieder, wirklich gut vorgetragen, am Flügel, die mit ihren bitteren Wahrheiten bedrücken und nachdenklich machen, gleichzeitig aber auch amüsieren. Die alte Floskel “Man weiß nicht, ob man lachen oder weinen soll”, trifft bei seinen Liedern voll zu. Hier ein Beispiel:

Eben habe ich mir das Album “Das Robinson Crusoe Konzert” von Rainald Grebe gegeben, dass gespickt ist mit diesen bittersüßen Liedern. Damits nicht zu schwer lastet sind diese immer von lustigen Phasen unterbrochen, die zeigen, dass Grebe es auch ohne Tasteninstrumente kann. Der Typ hats einfach drauf und trifft dabei voll meinen Humor:

Bleibt mir nur zu sagen: In meinen Augen ist Rainald Grebe das beste, was Deutschland im Comedy-Bereich in den letzten Jahren hervorgebracht hat. Soll Mario Barth doch weiter mit seinem Holzhammer-Humor die Fußball-Stadie füllen - mir egal.

Lange Zeit sah der Kampf zwischen HD-DVD und Blu-Ray recht ausgeglichen aus. Mit dem Start der Playstation 3, die gleichzeitig ein hervorragender Blu-Ray-Player ist, begann das Pendel langsam aber sicher immer mehr Richtung Blu-Ray auszuschlagen. Wirklich entscheidend war dann vor ein paar Wochen die Bekanntgabe Warners, die bis dahin zu den wenigen Anbietern gehörten, die für beide Formate produzierten (so produzieren 20th Century Fox, Columbia und Buena Vista/Disney nur auf BluRay, Universal und Paramount sowie mehrere kleine Anbieter ausschließlich auf HD-DVD), nur noch auf Blu-Ray Filme zu veröffentlichen. Diese Entscheidung war dann quasi der erste Sargnagel für die HD-DVD, weitere sollten folgen. Der letzte war dann am vergangenen Freitag die Entscheidung von Wal-Mart, die HD-DVD aus den Regalen zu nehmen.

Noch ist es nicht offiziell bestätigt, aber seit gestern Abend mehren sich die Gerüchte, dass Toshiba, die Firma hinter dem Medium HD-DVD, die Produktion ihrer Player einstellt. Das wäre dann die offizielle Beerdigung. Der Krieg ist zu Ende! Im Nachhinein krass, wie schnell es dann doch dazu kommen ist. In meiner letzten audiovision-Zeitschrift von vor einem Monat nehmen die HD-DVD-Tests noch mehr Seiten ein als die Blu-Ray-Tests.

Ach ja, was erinnere ich mich noch, als ich nach Weihnachten 2006, gerade das HD-DVD-Laufwerk für die Xbox360 bekommen, bei mir im Norden die Media Markts und Co auf der Suche nach HD-DVDs abfuhr und erschreckend feststellte, dass die HD-Medien selbst in größeren DVD-Abteilungen noch nicht zu finden waren. Nur der Mediamarkt in Buxtehude hatte eine Hand voll Filme in HD - allerdings interessierten mich da die Filme ansich weniger. Tja, und bevor sich das Medium außerhalb von Technik-Freaks Freunde schaffen konnte, ist es jetzt auch schon Tod. Tod im Säuglingsalter quasi.

Und auch wenn ich mit meinem HD-DVD-Laufwerk für die Xbox360 nun auf der Verlierer-Seite stehe, so finde ich diese Entwicklung insgesamt positiv. Ein Ende des Format-Krieges war nötig, damit sich HD endlich auch in der breiten Bevölkerung durchsetzen kann. Ob nun HD-DVD oder Blu-Ray ist mir ziemlich egal, beide Medien haben ihre kleinen Vor- und Nachteile. Eine Frage, die ich mir jetzt langsam stellen muss, ist, ob ich bei der langsam beginnende HD-DVD-Verramschung zuschlagen sollte und meine Sammlung, die mit King Kong (lag dem Player bei) und der Matrix-Collection diesen Namen eigentlich garnicht verdient, etwas vergrößern sollte. Allerdings stellt sich die Frage: Was machen, wenn mein Laufwerk mal den Geist aufgibt? Wie gut man dann irgendwann noch einen Player bei ebay für wenig Geld ersteigern kann, ist in Hinblick auf die spärliche Verbreitung äußerst fraglich.

Bleibt mir nur zu sagen: Rest in Peace, HD-DVD! Mit dir den Beginn eines neuen, hochauflösenden Film-Zeitalters miterlebt zu haben, werde ich nicht vergessen. Aber jetzt: Willkommen Blu-Ray, Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Sieg!
