Ich kann mich noch erinnern, als auf einer Seite im Spiegel DVDs (oder CDs?) beworben wurden, auf denen alle Spiegel-Artikel als PDF enthalten sein sollten. Coole Sache, dachte ich. Der Schock kam beim Blick auf den Preis….hmm, dann wohl eher doch nicht! Nun ist es wohl nicht mehr ganz neu, aber ich bin erst jetzt drüber gestolpert und ich denke es ist auch noch recht unbekannt (ich mein: Hey, wenn ich als Internet-Junkie das noch nicht wusste… ): Hinter dem unscheinbaren Link “Spiegel Wissen” auf spiegel.de eröffnet sich nach Klick auf “Index” eine gewaltige Wissens-Bibliothek.

Hier findet man nicht nur alle Spiegel-Online-Artikel und alle manager-magazin.de Artikel der Vergangenheit sondern auch alle vergangenen Artikel der Spiegel Hefte.

Die Artikel lassen sich dabei sowohl als normaler Text-Artikel lesen wie auch als Orginal-PDF Version mit Bildern und allem drum und dran. Das ist schon cool. Besonders interessant neben dem Spiegel selbst ist in meinen Augen vor allem der Spiegel Special mit seiner Fixierung auf ein spezielles Thema. Außerdem im Programm sind die gelegentlichen kostenlosen Spiegel-Beilagen Kultur Spiegel und Uni Spiegel sowie das Manager Magazin.

Dass immer die aktuellsten ein, zwei Hefte nicht online sind versteht sich allerdings wohl von selbst, ist aber gerade bei Spiegel Special nicht weiter schlimm. Ein bisschen Schade ist die mangelhafte Übersicht: So wäre eine Liste, welche Spiegel Special Hefte mit welchen Themen es gibt recht hilfreich. So klickt man jetzt nur die Monate durch und guckt, wass für Themen sich im Heft befinden, wenn nicht gleich ein “0 Artikel” erscheint, weil es in dem Monat einfach kein Heft gab. Recht lieblos. Auch, dass man nicht ein Heft in pdf-Form komplett von vorne bis hinten durchblättern kann, ist schade. Dennoch: Das alles für umsonst, das hat schon was!
